Rachael's Notes
There are 2 golden eagles on exhibit at the Phoenix zoo. There is a third who is kept off exhibit and is shown to the public in for educational purposes. This third golden eagle is also featured in the zoo's Zooperhero show.
Where to spot them: The golden eagles can usually be spotted easily. They perch on low branches or sit on the ground. They rarely go into the higher branches. They do not use the small nest in the back of the exhibit.
Medical Conditions: Both golden eagles have wing injuries that are healed, but disable their ability to fly. Because of these injuries, they would not be able to hunt in the wild. Fortunately, the zoo took them in and gave them a permanant home on the Arizona Trail.
